The short version

No account. No sign-in. We never ask for your name or email.
No location tracking. Stadium weather uses the stadium's coordinates, not yours.
No ads and no data sales.
Purchases go through Apple; we receive a receipt, never your payment details.
Usage sharing is anonymous and can be turned off in Settings.

What the app collects

Anonymous usage events. When "Share anonymous usage" is on (it is on by default), the app sends events such as which faces and complications are used and which school is selected. Each event carries a random installation identifier that is not linked to you, your Apple Account, or your device serial number. You can turn this off at any time in Settings ▸ Feedback, and the identifier is reset when you delete the app.

Purchase verification. When you buy a face, a face pack, or a School Pass, the app sends Apple's signed transaction to our server so we can unlock what you bought on both your iPhone and your watch. This includes an anonymous account token generated by the app and the product purchased. It does not include your name, email, or payment method. Apple also notifies our server of renewals, cancellations, and refunds so your access stays correct.

Suggestions you send. The in-app suggestion form sends only the text you type, the topic, your selected school, and the app version. It does not ask for or attach contact information.

Support email. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you. We don't add you to any list.

What the app does not collect

Your location. Game-day weather is looked up for the stadium, not for you.
Your contacts, photos, or health data. Saving a face to Photos writes one image with your permission and reads nothing back.
Advertising identifiers. The app contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.

Services the app talks to

Our own servers, hosted on Render in the United States, for school artwork, schedules, purchase verification, and anonymous usage events.
Apple, for purchases, subscriptions, and WeatherKit stadium weather. Apple's handling of that data is described in Apple's privacy policy.
College football data providers for schedules, scores, and rankings. Requests carry no information about you.

Retention

Anonymous usage events are kept in aggregate to decide which schools and designs to build next. Purchase records are kept for as long as the purchase can be restored. Suggestions and support email are kept as long as they're useful for support.

Children

CollegeWatch is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Purchases require an Apple Account, which Apple age-gates.

Your choices

Turn off usage sharing in Settings ▸ Feedback.
Manage or cancel a School Pass in your Apple Account subscriptions.
Delete the app to remove all data it stores on your devices.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the effective date above will change and the app will point to the new version.
